Sunday, March 5th 2-4pm "Are you afraid to let your dog off leash because he does not come when called?" It is absolutely possible to get reliable responses from your dog when you call him to you. Sunday, March 19th 2-4 pm Does your dog lunge aggressively at other dogs when you go for a walk? Are you embarrassed by your dog's behavior? Are you not taking your dog for as many walks because of this? Explore how and why your dog does this and what you can do to change it. Fee $25.00
Wednesday, March 29th 7-9 pm For the Coolidge Corner shops Lecture series, I will be presenting on the following topic: An Overview of Dog Training- A look at the history of dog training and the trend towards 'positive only' methods. This presentation will address how dogs learn and how to know if your dog is learning what you think you're teaching. This will be a lecture and live demo with an untrained dog. Would you like to volunteer your dog? Is it just politically correct? A great marketing slogan? Is it possible to have a well-trained dog without using collars that pinch, choke or shock your dog? Or is their merit to the traditional dog training view that 'your dog needs to know who's alpha'? Is there a middle ground? I will explain why and demonstrate how I use clickers in both training and retraining dogs.
Sunday, April 9th 2-4 pm How long can my dog be left alone at home? How can I stop him from being destructive? When is it separation anxiety? Does my dog need Prozac? Learn about some strategies to lessen your dog's stress that many of my clients have found very helpful. Fee $25.00 |
